The Ukrainian Catholic Rite ( aka previously Ruthenian,or Greek Catholic) has had married priests since the 1400s Uniate agreement with Rome. In the US, the Ukrainian Rite has had married priests serving our parishes for a few decades. My family has had married priests for centuries, including both my grandfathers and great-grandfathers who were Ukrainian (Ruthenian) Catholic priests. It works very well and has had no scandals as in the Roman (Latin) Rite. Unfortunately, my father, who finished the seminary in Ukraine and then came to the US, was denied ordination because of pressures from the Roman Rite.
